Executive Team
Keith Thomas (President) is a proven entrepreneur and most recently was CEO
of Vector Innovations, which was successfully sold in 2006 after being
backed by a number of highly regarded venture capital firms. Mr. Thomas has
led a number of technology start-ups; reorganized companies at a New York
based restructuring firm; managed strategy and operational restructuring
projects at Booz Allen & Hamilton; and completed a number of corporate
finance transactions at Citibank in the US and Europe. Mr. Thomas holds a
MBA from Columbia University, a MA in Economics and a BASc in Engineering
from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Darren J. Anderson (Chief Technology Officer & Founder) co-founded
Northern Nanotechnologies in April 2006 and is now responsible for the
overall scientific direction of the company. Dr. Anderson has a Ph.D. in
physical chemistry from the University of Toronto. His research has been in
the following three areas: the synthesis and use of gold and silver
nanoparticles (with Martin Moskovits); the use of nanostructures to guide
surface plasmon propagation in gold surfaces; and the interactions of
complex biological molecules to form large superstructures (with M. Cynthia
Goh). Dr. Anderson has an extensive peer-reviewed publication record, and
won a prestigious NSERC Doctoral Fellowship in 2004.
Flavio Campagnaro (Director of Manufacturing) focuses on nanomaterial production and process scaling. Most recently, Mr. Campagnaro spent over ten years as senior process engineer at a prominent environmental processing firm. His responsibilities included design, construction, process optimization and environmental compliance. Mr. Campagnaro also supported technical sales initiatives. Mr. Campagnaro received his BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
Skip Campbell (Director of Strategy and Business Development) focuses on the
overall strategic direction of the company, as well as managing
relationships with customers and partners. Most recently, Mr. Campbell spent
five years with Innovation Advisors, a Boston-based investment bank
executing M&A and private placement transactions in a variety of high-tech
industries. Mr. Campbell was one of the firm's first employees, and
primarily focused on IA's activities in software and security technology.
He also has experience in venture capital and consulting. Mr. Campbell
received his MBA from the University of Toronto and BA in Economics from
Williams College.
Ken Yoon (Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Development) , in
addition to his responsibilities as CFO, focuses on commercialization of
select verticals, including life sciences, through licensing, joint
ventures, and spin outs, as well as acquisition of complementary IP or
companies. Mr. Yoon spent five years with one of the largest and most active
venture capital firms in Canada investing in life sciences companies, and
has board and audit committee experience. Prior to venture capital, Mr. Yoon
held several positions at Ernst & Young, notably as a co-founder of a
multi-disciplinary business advisory providing consulting services to growth
companies. Mr. Yoon is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a MBA from
University of Toronto, a Law Degree from Queen's University and a B.Sc. in
Biology from the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Jordan Dinglasan (Scientist - Technology Development & Founder) ) is a co-developer of the technology and has an impressive background in nanotechnology, having completed his Ph.D. in the lab of Professor A. Dhirani, working on the interactions of electrons and nanoparticles in thin films. Dr. Dinglasan was responsible for technology development of NNT's first product lines.
Prof. M. Cynthia Goh (Chief Scientific Officer & Founder) is a co-developer of the
technology. Prof. Goh is an experienced entrepreneur, having founded Axela
Biosensors, Inc. (one of the top-10 biotech firms in Canada in 2005). She
has also independently launched a number of commercialization initiatives,
including Entrepreneurship 101, a course introducing entrepreneurship to
experienced scientists and engineers. She has extensive experience in
milestone-driven research and has worked extensively with many industrial
partners.
Dr.'s Jane B. Goh and R. Loo (Product Development, Founders) Dr.'s Goh and Loo are co-founders of NNT, and bring an extensive experience in biological and organic chemistry with excellent academic pedigrees and entrepreneurship as co-founders of Axela Biosensors Inc. They are responsible for assisting the scientific team responsible for customization of nanoparticles.
Board of Directors
Paul Clark (Director) was appointed to the board of directors of the Company
in October 2007. Mr. Clark was most recently Vice-President, Research and
Technology at NOVA Chemicals Corporation and from 1994 to 2006, President,
NOVA Research and Technology Corporation. Mr. Clark previously worked as a
research chemist at the Dow Chemical Company and also served as Research
Manager and Technical Director at Chemicals R&D, and as Global Operations
Director, Polyolefins R&D. A polymer chemist, he also serves as past Chair
of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association and is a Member of Council for
the National Research Council on Canada. He is also a Board Member of the
Alberta Science and Research Authority.
Neil Reid, Ph.D (Director) was appointed to the board of directors of the
Company in August 2007. Dr. Reid was the co-founder, Senior Vice President
Strategy Development and General Manager of MDS Sciex, a division of MDS
Inc. from 1974 - 1999. At present, Dr. Reid is a senior management
consultant and also serves on the board of Qustream Corporation, a TSX
Venture Exchange Listed Company. Until October 2005, Dr. Reid was Senior
Vice President of Protana Inc., a company formed from the merger of MDS
Proteomics Inc. and Optimol Inc. (of which Dr. Reid served as the President
and CEO from January 2003 until the merger). Dr. Reid also co-founded MDS
Proteomics Inc. (a health and life sciences company) in January 2000. He
held the positions of Chief Technology Officer from December 2000 to April
2001 and Senior Vice President from 2001 until its merger with Optimol Inc.
